Miss Nicole
Founder & Principal
Miss Nicole is the founder and principal of Step Up Dance Academy. Her goal has always been to create a space for every student that walks through the doors to thrive and reach their potential.
Miss Nicole always goes above and beyond for every student that enrols with us. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, she holds a CERT III in Dance Teaching, has been a member of the Ballet Australasia Limited for 15 years (as well as growing up learning the syllabus she now teaches), she is certified Acrobatic Arts teacher, qualified in Progressing Ballet Technique and is an accredited Ready Set Dance teacher. Miss Nicole also has a CERT III in childcare, current first aid certificate and working with children check.
Nicole began dancing at the age of 4 under the guidance of Rachel Murdoch which gave her the foundations and advantage to create one of the leading dance schools in the area. During that time she completed all of the dance exams with exceptional results.
In 2019, she was excited to attend Ready Set Dance HQ to learn the award winning Pre-School Dance program and bring back to the studio. You can catch episodes of your tiny dancers favourite dances on Nick Jr.
Past students have successfully auditioned for and been featured artists in NSW Schools Spectacular and gone on to professional careers at top performing Arts schools such as Brent St.
We are committed to providing a safe, happy and friendly environment where all students feel valued and important and are taught with the upmost quality and professionalism at every lesson they attend with us.
Miss Kate
Miss Kate began dancing at the age of 4 doing all styles of dance under the guidance of Rachel Murdoch. Miss Kate completed BAL examinations and always received exceptionally high marks.
Kate has over 17 years of teaching experience specialising in Jazz and Hip Hop. Kate’s eye for detail, dedication and creativity has earned many awards at local and City Eisteddfods making Step up known for its strong and superior Jazz and Hip Hop classes.
Under Miss Kate's guidance students received Platinum Gold at Showcase Dance Championship Eisteddfods and qualified for many years to dance at a Regional Level. Step Up has gained a great reputation in the dance circuit due to Miss Nicole and Miss Kate's commitment and knowledge.
The training received at Step Up have opened many doors for our dedicated dancers. Past students have gone onto be accepted into prestigious dance schools such as Sydney’s Brent Street.
The strong training in Jazz and Hip Hop have enabled students to be accepted into the production of NSW School Spectacular. Many of those students selected to be featured artists among some of the greatest dancers in Australia in Jazz and Hip Hop.
Miss Kate always goes above and beyond to prepare students for local events, eisteddfods, concert practice and puts a lot of effort into her class preparations to ensure students are being pushed to their full ability in a safe and correct manner all whilst having fun!
Miss Kate is a Certified Acrobatic Arts teacher and has also completed Modules with RADAR Technique, a programme designed to give young dancers the tools to improve their strength, flexibility, control, alignment and improve technique in various areas of dance.
Miss Maddison
Miss Maddison began dancing at the age of 2 doing all styles of dance under the guidance of Miss Nicole and Miss Kate and has been by their side ever since.
Miss Maddison has completed all of her Ballet Australasia Limited Ballet and Tap exams with exceptionally high marks. She has also completed her senior grades in Jazz Exams.
She recently travelled to Sydney with Miss Nicole and Miss Kate to learn some new skills in the Acrobatic Arts industry and will be a fantastic asset to all of our dancers with her knowledgeable dance ethic and enthusiastic approach to anything related to dance. Maddison is always striving for more with her dancing skills and has a fantastic eye for detail and a nurturing approach with her younger peers.
